How to Join Orchestra

1. Choose ORCHESTRA as your first choice on your middle school course selection form

2. Sign up to attend our Try the Instrument event

• February 7th, 2026 @ Rushing MS Gym

  • 9:00am - 3:00pm (30 minute time windows)​

• If you missed Try the Instrument day, it's not too late! Please email cdnguyen@prosper-isd.net to set up an appointment.

3. Listen to the instruments below and get an idea of what instrument YOU might want to play next year!

Important note: We understand that you may not be available on February 7th, and that’s perfectly okay. It’s important to list Orchestra as your first elective for the course selection due date on February 20th to help counselors create schedules more easily. It is more difficult to add orchestra after the 20th than to take it away. If you change your mind after trying the instruments, or if you’re still unsure, schedules can be adjusted anytime up until May 1st.
